1st Grade WILD THINGS

Have you ever read the book Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak?

Have you ever seen the movie Where The Wild Things Are?

1st grade students created their very own wild thing monsters in the art room!! We looked at shapes Maurice Sendak used to create his wild thing monsters. We then looked at the different lines and patterns on the Wild Thing Monsters. Students were asked to create a Wild Thing monster useing geometric shapes, symmetry, and filling in the wild thing with a variety of different lines to create the patterns.
